The Charlotte County Historical Society hosts several fundraisers/festivals each year. Funds raised by these events are used to assist in providing educational programs that promote history in Charlotte County.
Florida Frontier Days – Held the last Friday & Saturday in February, this two-day event celebrates the area’s rich history. It caters to local schools and youth in the community providing a unique learning opportunity for them to experience life during Florida’s pioneer period, in an authentic, fun, and hands-on atmosphere. Activities include entertainment, games, food, activities, and so much more. Artisans, craftsmen, and re-enactors in period attire bring Florida’s past to life.
Hibiscus Festival – This one-of-a-kind celebration began in 2004. The festival celebrates and shares the unique history and character of one of the world’s most renowned hibiscus hybridizers, Harry R. (Pete) Goulding. Lobster & Libations – Fun for one and all is had at the annual Lobster Fest. Attendees enjoy Maine lobster along with a live auction, silent auction, Lobster pickin’ raffle baskets, great food, and fun for everyone. The annual event will be held October 7, 2023 at the Isles Yacht Club.
